FOURTH ALBUM IN THE WORKS, SAYS HIP-HOP STYLIST SHYSTEE HOLLYWOOD, CA – Hip-hop and R&B groovemaker Shystee has revealed to fans that he’s laboring away on his fourth indie release “Lyrical Lyztnerz.” “I’ll be writing and producing all tracks except for verses written by those who are featured on the album,” says Shystee. “This is a straight play album. You just have to put it in, press play and let me do the rest.” The name of the album is a reference to Shystee’s strong focus on the lyrical drive of his hip-hop. “As an artist If feel very close to the best (if there is one),” he says, “and I feel like I have a lyrical advantage over most artists that I hear today.” Besides his lyrical focus, he also strives for music that isn’t limited by ideas like old school and new. Shystee’s goal is to make music that draws listeners from both realms of fandom. But, ultimately, he says he has to be happy with his creations. “My music is made to my liking so for those who want that old school feel but with a new school presence, I’m the provider.” Shystee has opened for Lil Wayne in the renowned Apollo Theater and played in 2006 at the Juneteenth Festival in Syracuse, N.Y., for a crowd of more than 5,000 fans. He also appeared at 2005’s New York Music Festival. He has collaborated with Terra Squad’s Tony Sunshine. Shystee’s previous three albums have sold in excess of 200,000 copies. In the end, he believes his success will stem from following his own beat and writing to please himself, rather than others. He makes his music for self-satisfaction. His self-assurance as an artist, he asserts, comes from the music itself. “Music makes me feel confident as well as powerful,” Shystee asserts. His label, “Powerful Recordz,” is a reflection of his relationship with music. The name expresses the empowerment music offers him and the label is his self-reliance manifested.
